“Dan was my first MMA coach. When I had no idea what I was doing Dan was the first to step in and offer his help. He's a natural leader. He turned us from a handful of guys learning to punch each other into a functioning team.

Dan spent his own time and money to coach us, set-up our fights, and travel us out to different states to compete. He became more than a coach, he became a true mentor and a friend. He created a system of support and we relied on each other through our wins and loses. He made sure our team always felt loved.

When I think of Dan as a person, I first think of his compassion and generosity. He puts himself out there for others time after time. He builds people up and consistency brings new opportunities to others. Just look at his work in the veterans community.

From raising money through charity, to consulting for veteran small businesses, to advocating for veterans directly with government officials, he is always taking responsibility upon himself to improve the lives of others.” â€‹

Dan Newberry was my introduction to the world of combat sports. I first met him while training at Fuel Fitness gym in 2017. As I was transitioning from CrossFit to combat sports, Dan welcomed me into his team and immediately began preparing me for my MMA debut.

Dan is truly one-of-a-kind. It's rare to find someone who is so deeply passionate about what they do. Whether it's his charity work or coaching his team, Dan always gives 100%. He made it possible for us to receive world-class training without charging us a dime. He never asked for any money, whether it was for travel expenses or coaching fees.

Under Dan's guidance, I was able to develop a solid foundation in striking. Coming from a wrestling background, standup was not my strong suit. However, with Dan's help and support, I gained confidence in my standup skills and was able to go toe-to-toe with experienced strikers in a short period of time.
